EL Fouladh’s rolling mills are specialized in the manufacture of long products of iron for concrete, from billet manufactured locally in the steel mill or imported from abroad. The manufacturing is based on the principle of hot rolling. The products are used for civil engineering constructions and other industrial equipment, such as electricity transmission pylons.

With more than 40 years of experience in this business of industrial exploitation acquired and maintained by its teams, the rolling mills enjoy an undeniable reputation and provide the guarantee of a nationally recognized company.

TECHNICAL AND HUMAN MEANS

In order to preserve its know-how, to remain available and close to its customers the rolling mill department has the means necessary for this mission:

  2. Mechanical testing laboratories to ensure a standardized and reliable product.
  3. Study of continuous improvement of the required performances.

MANUFACTURING INSTALLATION

  • BAR ROLLER

The EL Fouladh bar mill installed in 1965 with a current capacity of 150,000 tons per year has been the subject of several technological improvements.

These improvements have targeted:

  1. The implementation of recent techniques and more reliable equipment.
  2. The profitability of this mill by aiming for a high coefficient of use of the equipment.
  3. Improving the quality of the product.
  4. The increase in production.

These improvements have enabled the bar mill to reduce its initial capacity from 75,000 t / y to 150,000 t of concrete bar round.

  • ROLLING MILL

The El Fouladh wire mill installed in 1974 has been the subject of several technological improvements.

These improvements have targeted:

  1. The implementation of advanced techniques and more reliable equipment.
  2. The profitability of this mill by aiming for a high coefficient of use of the equipment.
  3. Improving the quality of the product.

These improvements have enabled the wire mill to reach a production capacity of 100,000 tons of concrete ring in crowns.

  • DRESSER MACHINES

To facilitate the flow of products of diameter 8mm and 10 mm made in crowns, a dressing workshop equipped with three dressers with a capacity of about 50,000 tons per year was created.

  • MACHINE SHOP

To ensure the daily operations of machining and preparation of cylinders, the rolling mill department has a specific machine shop mainly equipped with cylinder lathes and crenellating machines.

These machining means allow the rolling mills considerable flexibility in the preparation and changes of production programs.

PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED

While respecting the requirements of consumers and traders in terms of weight per meter and number of bars, the “product” and “quality” standards that define the requirements that must be met by products, services and manufacturing processes are scrupulously respected throughout products marketed by El Fouladh namely:

  1. TUNSID 400 TUNSID 400 high strength concrete bar of diameter = 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, and 25mm.
  2. Round smooth and crenellated “in crowns of diameter 6mm to 10mm.
  3. Merchant iron of different sections:
  • Square iron from 10mm to 20mm.
  • Smooth round of diameter 10mm to 25mm.
  • Flat iron of 20X 8 mm and 20 X 10 mm.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Laminating is a method of manufacturing by hot deformation of billets brought to a temperature of around 1200°C. This deformation is obtained by continuous compression in the passage between two cylinders rotating in opposite directions called rolling mill.

The passage through a series of cages for the purpose of reducing the thickness of steel billets allowing the production of long products.

The basic product of the rolling mills is the billet of section 120 * 120 mm heated in furnaces pushing to be brought back to a temperature of 1200 ° C.

The rolling mills consist of:

  • Rolling cages.
  • Shears of different types and functions.
  • Completion for packaging.

In particular, the rolling process used by El Fouladh is controlled by automated systems of the latest generation of technology in order to overcome the problems of regulation.

The elimination of rolling constraints and continuous control at the level of the production line make it possible to have a product of high quality and compliance with local and international standards.
